What a Wonderful Week
It has been such a week of recovery. We had our winter break this week and it was so relaxing. I began feeling better last Saturday (valentines day). Since then it has been great. The only sad part about my break was that my hubby had to go out of town for work. He left Tuesday and got home tonight aroun 5:30. However, I lined up some babysitters for myself while he was out of town, because I was NOT about to stay alone. My sis came into town Tuesday afternoon and stayed with me till Thursday. We had a ton of fun and didn't accomplish much (we had plans to work on her wedding plans). Then Thursday my sister-in-law Shannon came to stay with me because my brother is also out of town for the next 5 weeks (please keep them in your prayers he is doing a rotation in Columbus for the next 5 weeks and she is taking the separation pretty hard and he is as well. They just got married in November.) Friday Quentin got into town and we cooked a big yummy dinner and they stayed again Friday night. Saturday I stayed with my inlaws and then my hubby is home tonight..speaking of he is calling and Im going to spend some time with him...I will finishe the update later.

A little relief
Today I made my second trip to the doctor. I went last Tuesday and at the time he thought I had an upper respiratory viral infection...Friday came and I was in so much pain so I filled the prescription for the Z-pack he gave me. Wouldn't you know I'm lucky enough to get a resistant strain of bacteria:) I have never had such severe sinus pain my whole face including my teeth have been hurting. With a recommendation I bought a neti pot. It helped to relieve some of the pressure. So still not feeling well I headed back to the doctor today and got a stronger antibiotic, took some mucinex D, and I am feeling some what better. My teeth are still hurting. It's the strangest thing. Ok I really hope I do not have to devote any more posts to an illness.
Friday we had our first game against Tucker High School and my girls looked so good. We won 12-0! That's a masecure in soccer pretty much. They have even changed the mercy rule to if your up by 7 in the first 20 min, you only play 20 min. the second half. If your up by 7 the first 20 min of the first half, but by the time it ends if you up by 10 points, there is no second half. We were nice and since Tucker came so far, we agreed to play a full second half. Anyway, we have pretty good competition against Woodstock tomorrow night.
Thats all for now! I hope that you all stay well...I hear flu season is starting up.

The Crud
So I've been pretty sick the past couple of days. Haven't called in sick a day in 4 years of teaching...until Monday. Saw the Doc today...its an upper respiratory viral infection. I don't get sick...often...maybe once in blue moon so this has really been the pits. Came down with whatever this is sometime middle of last week, but was feeling decent...then with all our glorious plans for the weekend Saturday night came with the miserables (totally not a word in the dictionary)! I couldn't breath...and my sinuses were killing me. Jonathan made me stay home and sleep Sunday so I did. Still didn't feel any better so I stayed home Monday. I just want to make a statement about all the dough these OTC drug companies are making...NONE of these things work and they are robbing our pocket books. I read the box, it says it relieves ALL these syptoms Im having and more...yeah not so much. No wonder my sister refuses to take anything unless she's "dying". I think next time Ill spare this temple of the drugs unless it is required to get rid of a bacterial infection. Sorry for the soap box, at least I have a little more energy today (went to school for 3/4 a day). Hopefully this is passing...and quickly! I'll update on the weekend when I'm feeling a little better....by the way I thought this was funny...I called Jonathan on my way home tonight and in the nicest voice possible he asked if I would stop and pick up some lysol...he lysoled the whole house while I was in the shower...I wouldnt want him to get this either...you know how men get when they are sick...that's all I have to say.

Busy, Busy, Busy, and I think I'll Scream
First, I'll address the screaming issue...I just typed a huge post and lost it trying to link something to the post. Lesson learned...I'll be asking for my husbands help next time. Ok so I'll try to get this one as close to the other. The past two weeks have been soccer filled. I held mandatory conditioning and then had try-outs. Coach Watts (my assistant coach and only the coolest PE teacher in the world. Ok I'll give you the back story really quick...When I was in kindergarten and first grade at Mnt. Carmel Elementary School I had this awesome PE teacher that mom still remembers I would come home and talk about daily. I even still remember talking about Coach Watts. Well over the years we moved and I went to Chapel Hill. I had a childhood friend whos mom worked with good ol Coach Watts and she grew up knowing his girls and eventually I would go to high school with 2 of them. Now years later in my first year as the new head coach for CHHS I was on the hunt for an assistant. Low and behold Coach Watts had also put in for the job too. So I decided that I would speak with him and see if he was interested. He agreed and its been great. We make a great team and I love telling the story about how things have come full circle. He keeps me grounded and is a great mediator between me and the girls. He has been coaching for years and has the experience I lack. Coach Watts is married and has 4 girls...his youngest is in 8th grade this year and coming up to the high school next year...I told him today that she was my "Coach Watts Insurace" and that I was hoping to still have him around for several more years). Ok anyway I was off track there, I ordered the varsity team new uniforms this year and they are so sharp. All week I have looked at my camera sitting on the coach and thought "I should take a picture and post it" and that is yet to have occured. I will get one up soon. Everyone loves them. These are probably some of the nicest uniforms some of these girls will ever wear.
We have a super packed weekend starting with Saturday afternoon. I am throwing a jewelry party (you are all still invited). Then Jonathan has an Edenfield http://edenfieldband.com/HOME.html event at West Ridge Church in Paulding Co. Saturday night. Sunday we have church, then we are celebrating my sister-in-law Shannon's birthday during lunch, and off to Jonathan's boss's for the Super Bowl. Edenfield has several events coming up...the one I am soooo excited about is that they are opening for Shane and Shane for FBC's DNOW. I know that we are supposed to be heading to Lagrange soon too (Katie and Mary Beth)! I think there might be a date change from the original plans or at least I hope so, because Jonathan actually has to work on the original date they planned. But I will make sure I let you guys know (Katie Im sure Chad will tell you) when we are coming. It is these winter/spring months that one always prepare me for the summer...because it can't get here soon enough and two I never know how we stay sane with such busy schedules. I remember thinking last year with as busy as we were at that time that there was no way a little one could fit into this schedule. Im sure when one comes a long something will have to go. I also wonder how we keep together, but we somehow manage. My prayer for the next few months is that each day is taken one at a time and praise is given for the simple fact we both have jobs and joy is found in the little things we do. I have a mission field with the girls on the soccer team and I want my time with them to glorify His kingdom.
On top of all the crazyness I am coming down with a little something....not sure what yet, got lots of mucus (yuck) stuck in the sinuses and chest, throat is raw and voice is horse. My precious and caring husband put me to be last night with a benedryl (more so to help me sleep) and proped me on two pillows so that I would sleep well. It actually helped. Im hoping this is as worse as it gets...I don't actually feel under the weather, just a little tired.
I will take some pictures this weekend of the jewelry party, the Edenfield show, and Shannon's B-day.

Wonderful Week
Well, this week was my first week back to school. It was really better than I anticipated (it usually always is). My kids seem like they are going to be pretty good (if you are a teacher you know it really takes a couple of weeks to make a good judgement on the personality of your classes). My first block consists of mostly juniors and seniors and I think I am going to love teaching them (they tend to be a little more mature). That class is a forensics class and we have already solved 2 crimes, "The Deadly Picnic" and "Who Killed Professor Kline". Both of my other classes are Honors Biology and they are full of freshman angels...the verdict is still out on the latter. It is amazing just how different upper and lower classman are from eachother. Soccer has gotten off to a great start. Of the girls that showed up on Wednesday for voluntary conditioning they seem to be in pretty good shape. I made them run an old Dallas Cowboy's conditioning test and I was impressed. We also got our uniforms in....the first set I have ever ordered. I you have ever played for a male coach you know they do not take the fact that a girls body is not shaped like a boys into consideration. So for years I had the pleasure of enduring LONG boy shorts and giagantic jersies when I played soccer. So I vowed I would purchase some nice uniforms made just for women for my girls. They are the nike mystic team jersies and shorts and boy do they look sharp (if you can say that about a girls uniform). I will take some pics so you can see. Im just taking a little ownership since this was a first for me. We were very blessed to have a parent donate some $ so that this was made possible and we are thankful for that. Anyway, to sum it all up it was a great first week back.

The Past Couple Of Days And What Is To Come
The past couple of days have been nice...except that the reality of going back to work is right around the corner. I am hoping that it won't be as bad as I am afraid of. I am teaching a new prep next semester. We had to make a few changes in the schedule and so I had a class change in my own schedule. I will be teaching Forensics. This being the first time I have had to "prepare" for a "brand new" class in several years on top of leading the department on top of coaching soccer for the high school (every night of the week) and the Dougls County Soccer Association (just two nights a week). So this semester is going to be nothing less of a balancing act and I am going to need a lot of time with God to maintain all the other duties that come along with being a married woman (I know that they come ahead of the others listed above). I completely love my job and I am so blessed to love the work I do and feel rewarded doing it but I struggle (like I am sure many working wives/mothers) to keep a good balance between working and keeping up with my wifely duties. My nights are about to lengthen with soccer and so the struggle to keep up with laundry, dishes and the cleaning will become a little tougher...ok a lot. If you know me you know those are my least favorite things to do and I need A LOT of sleep to just function normally. So to say the least I am a bit nervous about what lies ahead. But I want to go into the new year with a good attitude and be thankful that I have a job, no make that several jobs.... a teacher, a leader to my science dept., a coach, a friend, and wife among others. I want to view them as just another opportunity to allow God to work in my life and touch others. It just gets hard sometimes when stress creeps in...so keep me in your prayers that I will approach all of these things with a loving attitude and do them and be them in the way God intended and in a way that I can be useful to His kingdom.
